Vegeterian Tips: Reduce your refined sugar intake. I ve got as much of a sweet tooth as anybody, but I try to keep it under control by using such sugar replacers as maple syrup, stevia and agave whenever possible such as in coffee and tea and indulging in the refined stuff only occasionally.
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
- 1 cup canned or pre-cooked black-eyed peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced and lightly sauteed in olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumi
- 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
Directions:
Mash black-eyed peas with a fork. Add garlic,
cumin and spices. Blend until combined. Add
more spices, salt and pepper to taste. Use i
sandwiches or as a dip for vegetables or chips.
